Untied Fund to Sub centre

Over the years Sub-centres located in a rural set up have been facing the difficulty in managing contingencies arising out of lack of drugs disinfectants, unclearliness, lack of funds for an emergent referral etc. The situation is further worsened due to damage of old building which need minor reports. Activities at Subcentres which also include organizing small meetings and orientation sessions to call for an expenditure of contingent nature which was hardly available.

In order to strengthen the sub-centres, GOI has provided Rs.10,000/- per annum for each sub-centre. In Orissa there are 6241 sub-centres, which have received Rs.10,000/- each, and have been deposited in a joint bank account of the ANM and Sarpanch. It is operated by the ANM in consultation with “Village Health and Sanitation Committee”. Clear guidelines have been issued to the Sub-centres from the state as to how to utilize the fund.
